Officers

ELECTION OF OFFICERS:

Officers will be elected at the end of the current season, on or about October 1 for a term of one (1) year. The outgoing President will become a member of the Executive Board for the following year to ensure a smooth transition.

DUTIES OF OFFICERS:

ARTICLE I PRESIDENT
The President shall:
1) Preside at all meetings;
2) Call special meetings;
3) Appoint all standing and special committees.

ARTICLE II VICE PRESIDENT
The Vice President shall:
1) Report directly to the President;
2) Preside at meetings in the absence of the President; and
3) In the event the President is unable to continue serving out her term, the Vice President shall assume her duties for the rest of the term.

ARTICLE III SECRETARY
The Secretary shall:
1) Report directly to the President;
2) Record minutes of regular and special meetings;
3) Notify members of special meetings; and
4) Ensure that the club handbook is updated and provided to active members.

ARTICLE IV TREASURER
The Treasurer shall:
1) Report directly to the President;
2) Maintain a ledger with appropriate accounting of all income and all disbursements;
3) Disburse all legitimate debts of this league;
4) Collect dues from standing and new members and ensure names are reported to the Executive Board and Tournament Chairpersons; and
5) At the end of the golf season, turn over the records to the Audit Committee for review.

ARTICLE V TOURNAMENT CHAIRPERSONS
The Tournament Chairpersons shall:
1) Report directly to the President;
2) Update the rules governing the play of golf on an as-needed basis;
3) Referee and decide on all disputes according to the Princeton Country Club League Rules;
4) Make arrangements for players to tee-off in an orderly and timely manner; and
5) Update and adhere to the Tournament Committee guidelines.

ARTICLE VI BY-LAWS REVISIONS AND AMENDMENTS
Members must be notified either at a scheduled meeting or by mail or by electronic mail, one month in advanced of a vote to approve proposed revision/s and/or amendment/s to the by-laws. Voting on the revision/s and/or amendments will take place at the next scheduled meeting or, when inconvenient to convene the membership, voting may take place by mail or electronic mail. A majority vote of league members will decide passage of the revision/s and/or amendments.

ARTICLE VII HANDICAPS
New Handicaps will be provided all active members through a professional handicapping agency on a regular basis. New members who submit a certified handicap and have paid-up dues may participate in the tournaments immediately. Other members may speed up the process of obtaining a certified handicap by submitting the scores of five completed rounds of 18 holes. A new paid-up member without a handicap may play but cannot qualify for the tournament when a handicap is used to determine the winner.

ARTICLE VIII - ANNUAL AWARDS
1) Club Championship awards will be given for low gross and low net in each flight.
2) Year-end Ringer awards will be given for winners in each flight.
3) A Ball Marker for Birdie's & Chip-In's will be awarded to each player who successfully achieves any of these awards.
4) The Fran Potkay Most Improved Golfer Award
5) To the extent possible, monetary awards will be given for accumulated points received after specific weekly tournaments.

ARTICLE IX DUES
Dues shall be $40.00 per playing season.

ARTICLE X NEW MEMBER ELIGIBILITY
All prospective members must know and comply with standard golf etiquette.
